so no one told me that laos is pretty much all mountains. very pretty to travel through but scary as hell also considering road conditions and the mental state of the drivers. im in luang prabang at the moment and dont even bother looking for it on a map. although it is a world heritage city so im sure its on the net somewhere. its bigger the vien vang but not quite as scenic. went to a waterfall today and hiked around and swam in the worlds coldest water. its amazing how much of the french colony has survived.....architecture and language.......and the food. i may be in the middle of the jungle but i can get a crossaint for gods sake. so im in the highlands of laos for now.......our group keeps getting smaller as people peel off to go differnet places. i have till the 10th then i have to be out of laos so i'll head up to northern thailand and go to chaing mai and rei and probably pei too. it really is an eye opening experience to travel through these countries........other then the power lines, the villages look as though they have stood unchanged for eons. had my first hot shower in a month and that felt nice as all hell and they have normal toilets.....laos is ok in my book. i accidently got really messed up in vien vang. a girl we were with ordered "happy garlic bread" so i figured it would be a little weed on it and give us a good case of the giggles and some munchies.........2 days later i was about sobered up. i have no idea what was on there but i didn't eat very much. definitely an experience. well talk to u all soon
