Finally got here! The plane ride was uneventful but the plane was packed with people coming to Guatemala for many different reasons. Lots of Canadian kids coming down to spend several months, a group of Mennonites....I'm sure they were on a misson.....just not the kind I'm on. Caught a shuttle or van to Antigua. The tourist people hooked me up with a guy looking for a ride also, so we only had to spend $10 to get to Antigua instead of $30 for a taxi. The hotel is great, Posada de la Merced, there have been improvements since I was here last. I'm pretty amazed at the number of gringos here. Practically everyone speaks English....all the more reason to head to the mountains. |Ok...just wanted to let everyone know I made it. I write more tomorrow. I plan on spending 2 nights in Antiqua. Thanks for all you encourgement.
