Today started a bit slower than than yesterday, so instead of a super breakfast. We had cheese and bread and jam... was really good, with apfel tea. We had a small breakfast cause today we actually visiting another country for a visit to a town market. And that country was Holland (or the Netherlands, but you know what ever you want to call it), and the wierdest thing about it was, it was as easy as going over to NSW to visit Queanbeyan.
So we got to the market and looked around, and it was so excellent, because there was all this interesting food available and you could have a bit to try often. We did have a shopping list that Marie's mum & dad we getting through so we had all the good food for Easter lunch on monday, we did have to have a break midway through so we all got ourselves some deep fried sea food (scollops, Atlantic prawns, Calamari) to share. So once we finished getting all the stuff we needed from the market(they do like this market, but they only go to this one in Holland once a year), we got ourselves some traditional chips with mayonaise, which I think I've only been able to get @ Octoberfest celebrations in Australia (I think that's because it must be so bad for my heart). Then we had some coffee at this trendy nice cafe... reminded me of Tilley's in Lyhenham.
Our next stop on our trip was to hit some more supermarkets to get some more of the good foods to be able to cook all the good stuff for Easter, and when this happen we saw that there are two Aldi's in Germany. one is Aldi North and one is Aldi South, which seem to be owned by the two brothers who started Aldi, but now they are fighting or something. Back home in OZ our Aldi matches Aldi South.
So we get home and we have these type of herring's that Marie's much would cut and we would eat those raw, cause they were fresh cause we just bought them from the Market. They we so tasty!
Next Renee, Marie's mum and I went to an old castle, and we walked around and look at all it's museum stuff, which was very interesting. But the best thing about it was that in 'the grounds' we we had decieded to go for a walk in(there were some dangerous looking geese, and imposing rain clouds, but you know you only live once). We found a adventure playground like they used to have in Kambah before parents got so protective of their children and started sue-ing everyone for their kid getting a scratched knee. And I got to go on a flying fox!
On our way home from their we had a trip to the Spargle(I think's that's how you spell it, but it's Aspragus in English) farm, and we picked up some Spargle for our pancake thing we are cooking tonight! And we got to run the white Spargle through some cleaning machine, lots of fun.
I got home and I got to watch the fussball with Marie's dad, and the girls are cooking something with aspragus or something, they seem to be having fun.
