Arrived safely in Dubai.  Thought you would like to know.

Had a few hiccups connecting to internet but now sitting in Dubai, Carlton Tower room tapping away.

Went on brilliant 4 hour tour of new and old Dubai.  Fascinating.  This place is bewildering and bedazzling at the same time.

I have some great photos and when I have figured out how to download the camera software may shoot a few through to you.

Glen and I had lovely sunset buffet overlooking the "Creek" as they call it.  A 'river system' we call it.

Boats all wooden putting up the 'creek' with patrons dining aloft.

Off on desert tour now for 4 hours of....

Along for the ride
How wonderful this Travel Pod is. It is just like you've bought all your girlfriends along for the honeymoon! I can imagine how thrilled Glen would be!! Keep having a wonderful time, and keep sharing it with us. Donna xxx

Shopping for 7 hours...
Glen now on bed recovering. Can not believe we spent 7 hours shopping in the Wafi Mall, one of Dubai's numerous malls. Choppard, Pierre Cardin, Daniel Hechter (Paris), Chrisofle, Verri, Phard, Gerry Webber, Gant for shoes, Gant for clothes, Breitling, Chanel, and another 450 designers. The amount of 'sparkle' was blinding. Lunch at Japengo. Brilliant Japanese with all other flavours included. Swam, sunbaked and read this morning beside the pool, after buffet breakfast. En route to walk the streets for a look see and ride down the 'creek' and a tiny bite to tide us over till flight out tomorrow. Still feel this place is amazing. Bedazzling, bizare and bewildering...
The boy did buy his fare share of 'things'...

Wednesday 16th May ~ Waterford Crystal
Hi,
At last online to tap away some comments. Left Waterford the home of Waterford Crystal on this date. We made a quiet purchase and felt chuffed with ourselves. The tour of the crystal factory interesting. Bought you all crystal chandeliers as well. Start renovating your houses they need lots of room! Travelled through picturesque seaside town of Tramore. Dungarven was pretty. Stopped at Youghal and did the touristy thing, walked, looked and shopped. Drove to Cork and headed south to Kinsale. My fave and possibly Glenf's fave. Stayed in upmarket guest hse with magnificent antiques, paintings and crockery. Breakfast the best so far. Lots of Style. Me very happy.

Thursday 17th May ~Perryville House
Awake at Perryville House to mag. breakfast. All on fine bone china. Me happy again. Sadly left Kinsale for Blarney Castle and the infamous Blarney Stone. Travel Nth through Cork. Climb castle and kiss the Blarney Stone. A wet patch on the stone. I had to bend backwards and over a huge hole with little support from the Leprachaun by my side. Did you know you had to do that. I was quietly suffering from Vertigo at the time and then thought the kiss would be a walk in the park. You should have seen my face when I learned what I had to do. I'd climbed it, I was up there, people behind me...committed..Kiss it I did. Great photos.

Travelling West toward Kerry
Travelling west we arrive in a place called Kenmare.
This is a rival for my attentions with Kinsale.
For many reasons.. evil and not so evil.
This is the night we fall into a group of revellers at a fab. little bar in Main St. Four fiddlers and the like around a square table and lots of fun. What we didn't know was we had joined a Wake.
Should I leave this here, or tell you more? There sister had hanged herself three days before - on quietly receiving this news we retreated.
This retreat was not accepted and we were guests of honour..... I'll leave you guessing here..

Friday 18th May ~ Hangover
Glenf wakes with a 7 Guinness head and I was slower than usual but ok on this occasion. The events of the night may have be discussed in the 'ring of truth' at one of our houses or just over a pint of Guinness. too good.
Off to the Ring of Beara.
This is just below the Ring of Kerry.
both well known scenic coastal drives that are truly magnificent. So the Passat, Glen and I took off..

Saturday 19th May ~ Tralee
Leave Tralee for Limerick. Drive through Adare where the Irish Open is on (golf for those of you with better things to do such as crafting a good 'doylee'). A castle with golfers in it. Interesting. Through to Shannon where we couldn't even find the town, think they forgot to build it. Infact forgot all infrastructure and planted houses and clotheslines. Moved on to Newmarket on Fergus for a old rickety Bed and Breakfast and good pub. Pub food of a 5 star rating. A few characters in Newmarket on Fergus.

Missed heaps I know
Missed a segment but that was because we could not get internet. Amusing stuff. Some good nights in London with Richard. Dubai bits and there sure where a few bits. I have to get off this thing as I am fryinhg my lower abdomin, the place that one day may house my baby-kins...um, maybe.
Will write some more juicy bits soon.
Have sent you all pics and emails but get error msgs on almost all except Donna's. Has she sabotaged you all so only she gets the news and only she is the keeper of the gate?
Seriously, where is everyone.
little tear down the page falls gently...
