¿Have you ever seen a Corona Beer commercial? Well then, welcome to Canoa, Ecuador.
But first, we had to earn our keeps. After few days of volunteering our services with Fundación Planet Drum doing reforestation, trail maintenance and such, we earned a little vacation.
We met up with some of our Volunteer friends´ friends and hopped on a bus up to Cojimies. Actually, our travel was as such: The gabarra (car ferry) across the river to San Vicente, where we met a fellow going our way. Threw our bags and surfboards in the back of his pickup, and hauled it for about an hour and a half to Jamá. Caught a bus to pedernales, about an hour away, and then completely took over a short bus (reference dumb and dumberer) to Cojimies where we stayed at Chiflito´s (little chip´s) folks´ house which happened to be a tropical getaway! Check out the pictures.
When we returned, we volunteered a few more days and then headed over to Canoa, a sweet little surf town about 16km away (enroute to Cojimies). The surf looked like the famous Lake Pacifico (i.e. no surf) for a few days, but as our visit drew to a close, the surf picked up, and had a few days of nice waves.
JACKIE STOOD UP FOR HER FIRST TIME!!!
This is a reasonabubble stopping point for here.
Enjoy the piccys, and more to come....
