Hello people!

Stayed in New Orleans for 2 nights wish i could have stayed longer the atmosphere and the people are amazing nothing like i imagined ! It can't be explained in words of photos you just need to go there to experience it!!

The Saints are there football team and they were in the playoffs for the super bowl that weekend and it was a home game, so there were people everywhere getting excited such a great vibe.

It's a beautiful city full of old french buildings, The main area is the French quarter, there's blues buckers and sax players on every corner, artists painting in the street with their work for sale hanging over fences.

We visited Lafayette Square, and noticed they were filming something, apparently a movie with Whoopie Goldbgerg and Kate Hudson, we also visited Jackson Square and St Louis Cathedral. We hoped on a horse and carriage for a tour of the French Quarters, (The horse was half donkey = mule, i thought it looked odd). The tour took us past Preservation Hall, one of the cities oldest buildings, a jazz club built in the 1750's, America's oldest pub, through the famous Royal Street and the even more famous Bourbon street.

Bourbon Street was wicked!! it's a whole street full of bars and pubs, all in old fashioned buildings. All drinks are served in huuuuge plastic cups and you can just bar hop down the street. There's even take away stall where you can get a beer, cocktail or shot and just keep walking. At night there's huge Jazz bands busking on the street and break dancers putting on shows.

We also partied on french street, they don't have normal clubs with dance music etc instead it's people getting down to the jazz band, but the jazz players are all young and the band even plays popular music jazz style, heaps of fun!!!

We went to cafe Du monde an original French Coffee stall dating back to 1862. we had beignets (french donut) and coffee, that's all they sell, 24hours a day! and it's packed!  We then took a walk along the broadwalk called moonwalk, which runs along the Mississippi River and also visited the riverside markets and sampled some of the local food Jambalaya and Muffaleltta sand which, i had a strawberry daiquiri ($1), the food there is great and there's heaps to choose from! restaurants everywhere.

In summery New Orleans was wicked! Second Fave to NY so far :) next stop, Memphis Tennessee.

Much Love Natalie xxxxx
