I left Georgetown and caught the ferry. Got to the other side and problems started when I purchased the bus ticket to KL. I was ushered onto the first bus then after 10mins was told that it was not going to KL centre. then sat on the bench for 30 mins until another bus came. Sat on that one for 15 mins whilst it filled up with passengers. As is was still nearly empty I sought out the guy directing operations and said I had a plane to catch ( a lie) and immediately he found me another bus leaving straightaway. Why did he not do this in the first place?

Got into the centre and found the hostel where I was to stay. Very central and very nice and friendly people. The travel centre in KL is a brilliant place, not only architecturally but also for the information they provide. That evening they had a theatre performance of Fatima a traditional story. It was in Malay and set in olden times when there was a Sultan. There were stabbings and tension which I could feel but not understand.

It started 8.30 and to finish at 11pm. I decided to go as there was music and dance. The costumes were fantastic and nice music. After each scene there was a song or a comedy spot. I stayed until 10 pm and then headed back to the hostel. I was given a free programme. This was a very different experience to sit amongst the local and see them enjoying themselves. I am glad I went.
