Where I stayed
In order to get to Malaysia from Ko Lipe its necessary to take a ferry to Langkawi. I handed in my passport at the beach hut office at 9 and was told to come back an hour later. They seem to be booking boating trips from there as well. Anyway I did as was told and arrived with my bag. They took a photo of me and with the other people we walked into the water and boarded the speedboat. It was an uncomfortable trip as we sped along hitting the waves. After 3 hours we arrived at Langkawi. I had no idea of where I was going as I had no guide book and so followed the others.
After a while they gave us our passports. By then someone had organised a nminivan to take us to the ferry terminal. I bought a ticket and got on not knowing where I was being taken. We arrived in Georgetown in Penang. Disembarkation was chaotic. We go off and stood around for them to unload the bags. Eventually these were thrown onto the jetty and there was a free for all as people grabbed their bags.
Out on the stree I got a cab and headed to China Town where the cheap accommodation is located. I booked at this place which is friendly and well situated for having a look around. I shall spend a few days here working what to do next

Phew! What an ordeal! Glad you made it to your final destination safe and sound, and with all your stuff in tact too.
