Because this is a year for doing things I've never done, but always wanted to,
Today we took a three hour tour-via boat to Muskeget island where there is a giant Grey Seal Colony (some 3500 seals!). The captain was very knowledgeable about the seals and conservation efforts. Someday I would like to go back in the winter, he said they tend to have their best trips then in January and February and when they get close to the beach you can see the seal pups being born. There are something like 250 of them born each year, but they dont all make it, they have about a 50% mortality rate. Still, that must be a pretty amazing thing to see.
