Yosemite National Park, California

wednesday night we went to bubba gumps for dinner and brian did take some pics, and we had an absolutely wonderful time, but were very tired and had a 7.30am start on our journey on thursday. well what a surpirse, we got the front seat in the bus, so brian was in his element taking pics because you could see so much more, and it was a tad more scary too as you could see all the traffic and all the tight bends the 45' bus had to negoiate but it was fun. We stopped at merced for lunch and we just got a couple of quick salads and sat out in the sun (which has been in short supply the past few days) and had our lunch then we were back on the bus to head into yosemite national park. we dropped off our bags first so they would all be in our rooms when we got back, and then off we went. omg what a sight. there was a huge rock slide on the road in that happened a couple of years ago and aparently the road was closed for about 1 year until the built two one way bridges and a one lane road on the opposite side of the river. the slip is still there and you have to wait at lights until each way is clear before you go. brian did get some pics of the huge slip. we have been told they probably wont repair the road and just stay with what is working now. yosemite is an amazing national park, huge high mountains on each side of the road, a beautiful river down at road level and the most amazing water falls. we visited two water falls - brides vale and the yosemite falls, both most spectactular hope you enjoy the pics of the park. we had pizza for dinner and then we both fell asleep by 8.30 was a long long day. the hotel was very comfortable. there was no internet at the park so doing this later. toodle pip till next instalment
