After a lazy morning we departed for Chiang Rai. Our bus departed at 1315, 3 hrs and 160 baht. I was very impressed with the public transit (not the tourist transit, public). The bus was air conditioned, had 2 Stewart's and they served cold towels and snacks. That's better than the  a average airline :)

The drive north was amazing. The mountains grew closer with every KM. We stayed at the Akha River house. Our room was amazing, situated right on the  river and facing west. It made for perfect sunsets.
