Ancud is the Northern most city on the Island of Chiloe and is famous for it's Punihuil Penguin colony. Just off the shores of Ancud is the only part of our world where Magallanic and the Humboldt penguins meet and nest.

My main reason for visiting Ancud was exactly this, and I was fortunate to attent a tour to visit the colony (Sept- March only).
