Boulders Bay is famous in Cape Town for its penguins. So, for a day trip I decided to take the train to Simons Town and see it for myself. I was shocked to see how cheap the rail is in SA. For 13rand (less than 3 dollars) I was able to get a return ticket f║ Not to bad eh!

The train ride itself is worth the trip. You start off with Table Mountain and continue down the coast for a breathtaking hour ride. Rebecca, Linus and I were off for SimoníŽs town early in the morning and had a day at the beach and swimming with penguins planned. When we arrived we were off to the backpackers is just 600m to the left of the train station (not bad at all) From the Backpacker if you are feeling up to it you can walk the 3 km to the beach.

The entire beach is lines with a daily market (real tourist trap) you can tell by the set up they have and the prices of all the crafts. But I still ended up buying a beautiful chess set for homef║ I could not resist all the hand carved pieces.

So, after a day of playing on the beach, collecting shells and watching the penguins I decided to come back another day and spend the night. There is something about this continent that makes me fall in love with every corner I turn.
