Where I stayed
Anna and Johan;s House

My cousin Anna, my Dads older sister's daughter is married to a man called Johan who comes from a place called Dalarna, directly translated means the vales which is north west of Stockholm. They had been down in Karlskrona visiting and for the specific purpose of attending Anna's brother, my cousin Kalle's wedding anniversary party.
I decided that it was time to see another part of Sweden so I accompanied them and their 18 month old son, Karl-Oscar on the 8 hour drive up to their place. They have a large property with a run down old house they are renovating just outside of a small town called Smedjebacken. It's a very nice little place and for anyone familiar with Swedish children stories it's very 'Alla vi barnen i Bullerbyn'! Anna and Johan had just built a little guest cottage so I had my own little place to stay out in their garden.
Unfortunately it rained nearly the whole time I was up there so we couldn't do a whole lot. I looked after Karl-Oscar a bit while Anna and Johan worked on their house and we drove around, went to somelookout and into the nearest town to have a look around. It's all very nice, very much the same as other parts of Sweden I have seen but with hills and the trees are a bit different perhaps.
