Weather was going to be good for about 4 days so we left the marina at Lighthouse Landing and headed up the lake. (South) We went about 9 miles as our destination was an eagle sanctuary in Duncan Bay. We discovered the bird refuge was closed for the winter so we turned around and anchored near the entrance in a nice sheltered cove out of the wind. We are now in about 8 feet of water for the night. And what an indulgence...a big cell tower so our Verizon broadband and cell phones work here allowing me to add this entry.
I have made a panorama of our anchorage tonight. Hope you like it. We do.

Glad to hear all is well. How is the sailing on Kentucky Lake. Did you get to sail the nine miles to your anchorage? How was Light House Landing? From what I can tell it seems like a pretty neat area/ I am thinking about a visit there in the spring or summer. Do you know if they sail year around???

Hi Ester,
We are docked in a nice Marina for a week waiting out the weather. I somehow need to get your regular e-mail address and I can send you lots of KY lake info.
Maybe through the Balboa forum. Your call. If you have one you don't mind lots of folks know about send it here. Your call

Ahoy Harry,
Thanks for the reply !! My e-mail is jjdough39@yahoo.com
My ship is a 1976 Balboa 26 #778 named Easter Tide. A great story... I first saw her for sale in 1993 on Flathead Lake in Montana...My wife and I fell in love with her....we were a young couple, we had a young child, career and a 25 foot sailboat and just could not justify the purchase. We were sad but I kept the brochure the seller gave me with my sailing stuff and every few years we'd look at it and say "I wish we could have bought that Balboa".....Fast forward many years and afew moves and careers later then an assignment in Colorado. In 2005 I saw a couple sailboats in a fiberglass repair yard about 60 miles from where I live, both Balboa 26s but I could never get into see them....only look through a fence at a distance. In October 2008 I drove by the yard and the gate was open...I asked the guy about them..he told me who owned them and I took a look. #1 was really rough.....#2 was in good shape and as my wife and I sat in the cabin she opened a folder that was on the table and........the first sheet was a copy of the brochure the seller had given out in 1993 That's Right, Easter Tide was the same B26 we had looked at on Flathead Lake 15 years prior!! My wife said "We were meant to own Easter Tide" well, that was enough for me and by days end we owned both theoseBalboa 26s. She is a Great Sailboat !!! I hope I entertained you with my story!!!
I look forward to hearing of you adventure and Kentucky Lake.
Happy Sails,
BobH
