OK, lets get it out of the way. A very happy new year to one and all! Alrighty then, that process is done.
New Years Eve this year was spent with new found friends here at Willow Tree. The resort had a party planned and Gail made sure that we were signed up and had our spot reserved. This resort, I have come to realize does everything 1st class. Upon entering the party hall I was once again amazed at how this place does things. A DJ was playing and the hall was decorated from top to bottom. Every table had a supply of all the partying supplies, stupid hats, cow bells, blowers, clackers and everything else you would need to party. All this at no cost, yup nothing - nada - FREE! The only thing was everyone was asked to bring some sort of hors d'oeuvres for everyone to snack on.

As folks started arriving the food table was getting full. Everything from meatballs to cheese-balls was to be had. The Southern staple, "Sweet Tea" was provided and it seemed as though every table had bottles of all sorts of spirits on them as well. As we all know Gail enjoys a good party with music and dancing. She danced the night away getting others to join her on the floor. At one point she was up there doing the Gailsy version of Cotton Eye Joe, all by herself with everyone in the place clapping and egging her on! She was in her glory!! Hey once my Gailsy gets an audience and starts to get "her thang" moving, it's hard for her to stop. With in a few minutes she had the whole place on their feet dancing and jumping around, laughing and having a great time. It was GAME ON! By the time midnight arrived everyone was dripping, and gasping for air, another successful party was in the books. I find out later, Gail had so much fun with our new friends that she is planning on booking one of the cottages here at Willow Tree next year on New Years so we can come to the party. We will only be living 4 miles down the road but the party is for guests only so yes, we will be booking just for the party. Only my Gailsy would come up with this plan 365 days in advance.

A campground classic story was created at our table as well. One of those stories that will be told over and over by the "Snow Birds" that are here every year. You see We always like to bring a little extra party helper with us to these type of things. Gail mixed up one of her cocktails, basically VODKA some ice and just a splash of lemonade for color, and brought a pitcher full with us. Well our new Canadian friend, Norman, who by the way does not drink, was very thirsty from dancing. He had heard Gail explain that she had a pitcher of lemonade here on the table but did not hear the part about the vodka. Norman asked if he could have a glass and proceeded to down a 16 once cup full. Well lets just say that Norman was out on the dance floor doing the Limbo - Worm - Charlie Brown - and every line dance and cha cha there was. After finding out about the booze he gave us a big smile and said "ah what the hell" and finished what was left in the pitcher! I feel obligated to deliver aspirin to him this morning.

Now on to our year in review. 2010 was great year! Gail joined me in retirement and we sold our home of 27 years. We moved to our new home on the mountain and started a new chapter in our lives. I am having a blast cooking in the Cafe and doing my BBQ competitions. I won a Grand Champion trophy in 2010 and helped start and promote a cook-off for childrens hemophilia. Our children seem happy and have their lives on track. Bonnie got her new puppy and Kristin got a new job, puppy and LIFE. My Mother bought a house on the mountain by us and found friends, yup, that's right, FRIENDS!  Gail had another heart attack and surgery but all is fixed and well. My Dr. told me I have never been healthier and is amazed. She was so amazed that she forgot to say I was to fat, first time ever in 20 years! We have met so many new friends but  said goodbye to old ones. We have hooked our home to the truck and traveled south to find a new place to call home for the winter months. We adopted a cat named Harry D Puss and semi adopted a wonderful young lady named Amber. I learned about Facebook and Gail learned about Craigs List. Baxter's allergies have gotten much much better and he is still the best dog in the world even if he does STINK! We were blessed with a healthy new addition to our family, baby Emma, who arrived right before Christmas. And the list goes on and on. I'm sure I could find a complete list of bad things also but why waste my time. Life is to short to dwell on the negatives.

I guess now should be the time to let everyone know what my new years resolution will be. Now everyone makes these insane resolutions like I'm going to loose weight, spend less money, work less, be nicer and a host of others that we have all committed to year after year in our lives. Well not me. No More. They are to hard to stick to and every year we start out failing. This year mine is simple. It sort of has a few parts to it but it all comes out to the same end result. OK here we go:

I am going to live my life to it's fullest. No plan, no promises, no rules. This includes cherishing every single day I wake up next to the true love of my life and falling asleep next to her each night. Not being concerned of what others say - do - or think. Spend my money so my kids will not fight over it if I die.
Let Gail buy something even if we don't need it. Don't worry if we get lost, we have On-star and a Tom-Tom back-up. Whatever. That's it plain and simple.

I hope this New Year brings you all the best. Health, Happiness, and Wealth. 2011 is officially the year of WHATEVER! I figure we all can not stop the world from turning so we might as well enjoy the ride!
