Today our quest was to locate the best value on the appliances we will need for the new house. A washer, dryer and fridge are needed and so the battle begins. Gail has unbelievably agreed to cut back on her desire for only top of the line units for those that are more basic but all we will ever need. This agreement was negotiated and ratified using my 30 years of experience of contract negotiations. It was a win win, my budget would not be busted and Gail would be able to purchase more items, perfect.

We found a very interesting store in South Myrtle Beach. Pat-Mor furniture salvage. This place purchases furniture from most of the Condo and upscale resorts in the area and resells it at a fraction of what it is worth. Old, new, odd, specialty, you name it they have it. Gail has found a home away from home here. She has 2 rooms of furniture picked out already, plus they deliver!

Next was the hunt for appliances. This brought us to Home Depot, Lowes, and Sears. The choices are many and Gail was starting to forget our agreement when there they were. The perfect matching set, a washer, dryer, and as a bonus, refrigerator. All with in my  budget and Gail's taste and yes free delivery once again. The purchase will be made next week and delivered after we close on the house.

After such a workout shopping it was lunch time. Why is it that all roads always lead to us dining somewhere? I have given up all my old vices years ago. Smoking, drinking and gambling are all things of the past but oh how I love a meal, any type of meal, it does not matter to me. I will always be able to sit down and eat. That said, we found a place called Sticky Fingers Rib Hut. As one could figure out it is a BBQ place with ribs as the star of the show. After downing a half rack and a BBQ meatloaf sandwich it was time to head home. Mission completed.

Tomorrow brings a new day and Christmas Eve. This will be the first time away from our family for the holidays. Time will tell how we feel about being away, but the upside is that Gail and I are together and will celebrate with each other here in our little home on wheels. What can I say, life is good and getting better every day.
