Holiday Pocono

Today Gail, Baxter and I took off for the Poconos. Gail and I have been tossing the idea around about maybe going North for the winter instead of South. I know most people winter in the South but Gail and I have never really followed the rules. Our reasoning behind this potential move was this....We really did not want to be that far from our family, we both love the mountains, and I really love the winter in the North East. We will have plenty of time down the road to be "Snowbirds". God how I hate that phrase. I never now or in the future want to be called that. It reminds me of 90 year olds sitting around in Depends and waiting for the bus to bring them to the $5.99 early bird special at the local diner!

After a 2 hour drive we arrived in Albrightsville  to look at some properties. Well once again Gail and I had different views on what we should call home for the winter. I was looking for a less expensive fixer upper that I could work on over the cold Pocono winters. Gail on the other hand wants a near move in condition home with all the newest upgrades. Well after looking at a few of my type homes and then a few of Gail's type, I think we will probably do like we have been doing for the last 31 years and coming to a mutual agreement and go for something that Gail likes. What can I say, sometimes she is right.

We found something that might work for both of us. As luck would have it, our old neighbors have a Son who is selling his winter home in the area we are looking. Who knows, maybe a deal can be struck between us. Anything is possible. The home is a nice mountain "A" frame with a loft for extra room. It is a a little larger then we wanted but we can work with it. Some paint here and flooring there and who knows.

So lets see what the next few weeks have in store for us. Will we buy a mountain home? Will we head South? Will we stay right where we are? God only knows. We are in no hurry and happy as Clams with our lives right now. No need to mess this up with big decisions don't you think?

May all of our Family and Friends and a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
