For three days all I did as walk around Paris. Walk and walk and walk and walk. For some reason I didn't look into the subway system, which I later learned was quite easy and useful. Paris, in a nutshell...is cafes, shopping, and arches. You could get dropped into any random part of Paris and not really be able to distinguish it from another in my opinion.

I think my mission while walking was to find some interesting cuisine, which I never seemed to find. There's a lot of pizza there, but there is a lot of pizza everywhere. I guess you have to go into a fine dining establishment, because all I could find was pizza and baguette sandwiches.

Oh, and it was Bastille Day while I was there. I saw some fireworks, but skipped the military parade. Instead I spent 3 hours in Notre Dame during an epic downpour. Listening to the thunder echo throughout was probably the highlight of my Paris stay.

I'm glad I can say I went to Paris, but I don’t feel the need to return. It has its charm, it’s a big city with monuments and museums but I’d have to say it was a little disappointing.
