Well, it is hard to imagine when the sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful day everywhere that so many roads could still be closed by floodwaters! Bugger! We had planned to head to Newcastle to spend the weekend with Curt & Lynne. As we couldn't get through to go south, we did an about face and headed north. We stopped at Mullumbimby, Billy’s home town, back on the riverbank where we stayed February last year. It is such a pretty serene site by the river, but we must remember that we are camped in the footy ground and tomorrow is junior footy day! A good day to spend out and about we think! Billy put the crab pot in hoping for the big catch!
Weather is beautiful; football is on here at the grounds, so we headed off to spend some time at the awesome Mullumbimby markets. Such a great vibe, great music, yummy food and some really interesting people. A few hours later in the afternoon we headed over to Byron Bay for a look - it is such a beautiful place, but so very, very busy! There were people everywhere! We wandered amongst it all for a while, then back to camp and junior footy still going well into the night! Yay! Billy had yummy success with the crab trap too!
From here, further north and a few days on the Goldy to see the girls. It was fun catching up again. Bill managed to get in a game of golf at Tweed with Ryan and Jared and had a great day out. From the Goldy it is north to Brisbane where we will hang out until the baby is born. He is due Sunday 27th June so any day now we expect the new arrival! So exciting! Will keep you posted when it all happens!
