I got a lot of help at tripadvisor, for members there who I asked in a open forum and pm too.
I started the planning in February 2008 for a trip for December 2008
And I changed my mind thousand times for which hotel we wanted to stay on in Disney world, and the hotel I didnīt want to go to in the beginning was the hotel we stayed at in the end. WDW Dolphin hotel and we was very pleased with every thing at that hotel.
Website I used to make the trip happens was www.Disneyworld.com, www.Tripadvisor.com, www.Continental.com, http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/height.htm , www.undercovertourist.com , www.disboards.com, www.allearsnet.com
which was important to know because both my girls isnīt that high and it helped us to know where we could go with them, another site I used a lot was the shuttle service in Disney world and it was very handy to know what we was going to do when we was going to a restaurant when we had a reservation . http://www.ourlaughingplace.com/asp/twiz.aspx
And then it was the question about renting a car which we decided to do for the middle week when we wanted to go to a beach , we finally decided about the www.usrentacar.com and got a car for 7 days after our stay at Dolphin Hotel and the car was delivered to the Dolphin and we had to deliver it back there after the 7 days.
We booked a gold package, which included the insurance and fuel and we paid in English pound which saved us a lot of money, If we should have paid in Danish kroner we should have paid 200 pound More.
I had checked with some of the members at TA which hotel we could try in Clearwater area and we ended up in one of the once we had been advised , Marriott's Clearwater Sand Key.
We got the good advice of buy a booster seat at Walmart from TA member, and we bought a stroller to our little one a umbrella one at priceless for 26 dollars.
The booster seat was great and the only thing I regret is that we didnīt buy one extra to the one who is 6 year, because of the windows in the car was so high and she didnīt see anything out of the car, she started fighting in the back seat.
We had also a limo who was meeting us at the airport in Orlando at MCO and the driver stopped for us, to buy the stroller on the way to our hotel.
The total price wasnīt the price they had given me, but 157 dollars in total which was 22 dollars more then the price given to me at my e-mail. But the driver was very nice etc so I didnīt go into any arguing about that.
This was with Tiffany town car service
We took some taxiīs from Universal Royal Pacific resort to Mallenium mall cost of that was 24 dollars,
To downtown Disney 24 and 25 dollars and to the airport when we went home to the price of 44 dollars.
Tipping that was a bit of a chock for us. We are in the restaurant business ourself and we are not used to this tipping like they do in America, but we was prepared about it.
1 dollar pr person in the hotel room to the hotel cleaner each day that was 5 dollars every day since we where
Total cost 85 dollars for 17 days.
Then we had the in and out of the car when ever we changed hotel.
Help at the New Ark with the luggage 5 dollars
At mco 10 dollars
And this is the thing, when entering the Marriott's and husbond was taking care of the car and I got all the kids and me up to our suite I ended up paying 20 dollars since I didnīt have less in my wallet.
5 dollars after breakfast even if the breakfast was included so another 35 dollars for the 7 days in Clearwater.
Then when we eat out at restaurant every day, we are five people no less then 100 dollars in the orlando area and then top 20 dollars tipping for lunch and dinner which turn out to extra 40 dollars pr day we get 10 days with 40 is another
400 dollars in tipping for lunch and dinner.
I havnīt counted the thing together its just a warning that this is something You should think about before going to America and count that into the how much the holiday will cost.
Shopping Oh, yes. Since I am a bit of a shop pa holic person i was a bit afraid, but I managed pretty good when I was in America , only because I like good food ,I was saving my money to the eating in stead.
