I went on home visits in USA River with Tamiha today. The Dala Dala ride home was interesting, at least the first one I took was. The people sitting in my row spoke perfect English and were having a conversation in English when I got on. First they were having some sort of theological debate about reincarnation. Then it turns out him and the owman next to him had come from court where they were talking about child support. He said as a Christian everything happens for a reason so there's a reason he's not giving money to pay for his child and that according to the Bible women are the source of all the problems in the world so it's somehow her fault. He was saying she shouldn't have taken him to court because if he goes to jail for not paying then he can't work and giver her money, etc., etc. Me and the other 2 women were just laughing at him. He said were were all on the same side because we were women. It just sound so America, like the same problems, debates, and male attitudes that exist at home.
After lunch 4 of us went into town to do various things. We decided to take a cab home because 2 of them wre carrying a lot of money and didn't want to risk it getting stolen on the Dala Dala. We took this cool yellow European looking car and made a stop at the market on the way hom to get goodies. When we got home we watched The Lion King which we had managed to buy in town because we'd all been wanting to watch it ever since Safari.
It's gonna be awfully lonely at the house this weekend. Two girls went to a Massai camp excursion, the other 5 people from my program all leave Sat. afternoon for Zanzibar, and 5 people from the first program go home on Sunday afternoon, so there will only be 3 volunteers plue Valarie and Stephanie from Sunday afternoon until Monday night.
