Hello all Ravenna day 14

It has been a topsy turvy couple of days. We are staying at Hotel Diana it is 2 star and so far superior to the 4 star dump in Venice. We have enjoyed Ravenna. Lots of walking (again lol) Pics of churches, crypts, Plazaas, No names to remember, I guess we're lagging or failing on duties LOL. It is pretty. No decent restaurant opens before 7 so I am starved. Ristorante La Gardela Via Ponte Marino, 3, home made pasta filled with spinach and a cream & tomato sauce, pasta was light as a feather another good food choice. Dan messed up our internet he spent 4 hours trying to fix it and then a young kid showed him how to fix it in 5 minutes.:) the important thing it is working HAYHOO.

Got bit by a mosquito about 5 am ,first bug other than flies we have seen.

I can't say enough good things about the staff at Hotel Diana. What a sleeper it 's quite a bit different from the outside appearance. When we got ready to leave we were having a hard time finding a room in Florence and we got conflicting directions. The gentleman at the front counter spend a lot of time with us he got us a hotel near walking town in Florence & because he booked hotel to hotel he saved us over 120 Euros, & printed us out a map and directions, then he said since we had the time take the scenic route SS67. OMG we drove on some of the scariest roads I have ever driven. double and triple switchbacks 180 degree turns back to back. WE learned if it was wood rail not bad but then the metal guard rail was trickier and BEWARE the double metal guard rail, steep AND curvy. Beautiful country he was right but I am not sure I would do it again. It was suppose to take 2hr 40 minute it took us 4. Of course yes we did get lost again but this time we managed to find the road all by ourselves YEA.

Great fun catching up with you tonight. You two make a good team. Scenery is gorgeous! I am now craving some exquisite pasta. Have fun, be safe. Love :)
