The jungle was great! I would have spent more time there if it wasn't for out flight restrictions. But it was really nice. When we got o Puerto Maldonado we had to catch a bout ride for 1hr. 15min. when we arrived at the lodge we couldn't believe it, it was beautiful! Full in the middle of the jungle! And we have a bungalow for the two of us. There is a swimming pool. We have hammocks in our bungalow and there are also hammock rooms. Hehehe!!! So cool!!!
After lunch, which was very yummy, we took a boat across the river Madre de Dios to Monkey Island. There we walked around and saw 4 different types of monkeys, one of which was the smallest monkey in the world. As we were leaving the sun was coming down so we had a very nice view of the sunset. Got to take some amazing photos!
At all this I was sweating my boobs off, it's just so hot here!!! And so humid! When we got back to the lodge had a nice refreshing swim then a nap on a hammock! After dinner we went for a night caiman watching. The stars can be seen so clearly, I felt lost. I couldn't find the most recognized constellations because there were so many others... everywhere!!! It was fantastic! We only ended up finding two small yellow caimans. The boat ride back was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep.

The second day, had to wake up at 4.30 to leave by 5.30am for our jungle walk. Breaky is buffet so we had lots of fruit and we caught another boat away from the lodge and started our walk. Saw a tarantula! It wasn't as big as they can get but big enough, it was the size of my hand (if it had its feet flat out). The walk was beautiful, so many bird singing and the smell of the jungle is so fresh! We arrived at the lost lagoon and caught a canoe around the lagoon. Here we saw many caimans, turtles and many species of birds. Then we walked up a rickety lookout which was on a tree and got a bird's eye view of the jungle top...
Then we walked 5kms back to the lodge. After lunch we relaxed for the rest of the afternoon, swimming, sunbathing, swinging, and sleeping... heaps of fun!

Our good bye dinner was great, buffet. Flo and I had so much food; we are thinking this might be one of our last big meals for a very long time!
