We arrived at my cousins and I think we were off for a walk almost as soon as she arrived home from work. Kerttu wanted to take us on one of her regular walks "to a beautiful place" which crossed a main highway and then along a dirt road. And then she suggested we try Nordic walking which made me feel so uncoordinated at first but mastered it with Rina's patient instruction. She will have her own expanded version.
Trees were just beautiful - colours were such a soft green - all new spring growth. Colours are at their best on all the birch trees and new growth tips on the fir trees. Wildflowers of all kinds and yellow dandelions and their fluffy seed balls in masses. The forest floor is also covered in masses of low growth and in amongst it all we have often seen the low growing "Mustikka" bushes which have flowered really well this summer and the fruit has set. Due to no frost after flowering it promises to be a good berry picking season. Can't wait! There are other berries as well but not as thick
We took a left turn into the open forest across boulders covered in moss and the ground soft and spongy to the lake beyond. when we arrived at the waters edge it was a lovely peaceful view across the lake to dwellings on the opposite shore.

We'll have to invent "Aussie Walking". Great scenery.....Those trees could be in the (plantation) pine forests around Gympie.
If you wish to share some good Aussie scenery with family over there, go to my cousins blog http://alwynsimple.blogspot.com/ Alwyn is a superb photographer, specialising in birds, but some great scenic pics also.
Looks like you are having a great time.....we're slighly envious. Stay safe.
It's really interesting reading your 'diary' & seeing all the magnificent scenery on your photos. You'll be mighty fit by the time you return to Oz - or worn out!!
