Today is our last day in Japan . Noriko was keen to take us to a tea ceremony so we  walked  from her place through to the suburb which was one apartment building after another.  Considering the number of people that dwell in the area it was all very quiet  and the Parkland  added extra peace and restfulness to the area.

The Tea house was located in the midst of this parkland which was so relaxing. The ceremony consisted of being served  green tea and one of their Soybean sweets. Very simple and graceful.

After returning home we took the car and drove to Norikos parents home to pay them a visit. They live in the family  home where Noriko had grown up in and  had a bigger than normal home and yard. It was lovely to visit them and especially since her mother is a Christian in a largely Buddhist nation, there was a  closeness that brought us together in spirit.

Dinner tonight was at a Japanese restaurant on the 24th floor of a high rise building. Individual tables  were set into the floor so that we didn't have to kneel yet felt we were down low. They were also in  small cubicles so that  you could enjoy private relaxed dining and  our "room" overlooked  the city lights of Chiba.  Makito also joined us so we had a great evening together to finish our week in Japan.

We have lots of memories and it will be sad to leave these wonderful friends who were such warm and welcoming hosts.
