Since I've posted last, I've realized just how awful I am at explaining anything.  For those of you who don't know, I'm off to Amman, Jordan until June to study at the University of Jordan.  I'll be taking Modern Standard Arabic, Colloquial Jordanian, and two other classes (Possibilities:  Islam, Prospects for Democracy in the Middle East, History of the Middle East, Middle Eastern International Relations).  I will hopefully be staying with a host family otherwise I will be in an apartment with other international students.

I'll be leaving on January 19th (Detroit to O'Hare to Amman) to endure the 18 hour flight.  I'll be back in the US in June, although the exact date depends on the typical drags of life - money, logistics, and pesky governmental regulations.

There are several weekend trips scheduled to other cities in Jordan (like Petra!) that I will be posting pictures from, of course.  I'm blanking on other common questions right now, but feel free to ask away!

Common Question #1
Have you discovered the meaning of life in Jordan, and is it much different than what your working hypothesis was while in Michigan? (I suppose that's common question #1 and 2, but I do math badly.)

Common Questions one and two
I may have not discovered the meaning of life, but I came incredibly close to discovering the Holy Grail. If it wasn't for that guard at the Treasury in Petra, I would have done the whole Indiana Jones routine and grabbed it.

I'm not sure about the meaning of life, but clarity is coming by the bucketful. It can't be all bad if my whole opinion of Henderson the Rain King was changed in the course of two weeks.

Something changed. I'm not sure what. I guess there's something about going to your second foreign country that mixes some thing up.

Turkey is a possibility for Spring Break. I seem to have heard good things about it from someone...

How's the Sufism/mastersism/Dowieism/Roeism?

:o)
Change is the only constant, to be sure.

All isms are going well. I'd be happier if I had a decent job lined up, but felicity has found my doorstep, to be sure. We are considering moving home to Chicago in May, completing one of the big cosmic circles in my terrestrial life. We'll see how it goes, however.

Keep going. Stay safe. Stay peaceful.
