What an amazing place....THE SUNSHINE STATE...
First visit to Orlando-Kissimmee in 1984
I remember those days and they bring back warm memories.
Now, it's my own family what I have just experienced in the last 20 months.
Mama Laura, Papa Arjan, Daughter Sara and adopted Chery :-)
Well, I can assure you that there is no other place on earth where the aduls meet the kids
and where the kids meet the adults. Basicly in Florida we are all kids.
After our first feet into Disney World Park we have seen an amazing night with Mickey Mouse Christmas
Party and we were all impressed by the performance of this show and parade.
Artificial snow, artificial village called Magic Kingdom but with American perfection.
If you love Disneyland Paris, Disney World is the better best.
We eat at Denny's Diner, we have tried Waffle House, Black Agnus Steak House and much more.
Healthy salads shaker at the Millenia Mall/Orlando with fresh juices. That's America and we love it.
Sara keeps on singing "Berend Botje ging uit varen, met zijn scheepjes naar Zuid-Laren" with the famous
end of "Hij is naar Amerika"
The U.S.A. with all his contrasts of restaurant chains, outlets, fake coffee, Starbucks coffee, amusement parks and much more.
On our list for the coming days: Chilling at the swimming pool. Visit Gatorland Zoo with all his alligators.
The week before Christmas. Christmas specials, Discount offers and Christmas experience in the U.S.A.
Just added some pictures from our Daytona Beach trip today!
Check it out...
More or less 2 hour drive from Orlando you reach the Atlantic coast.
Daytona Beach, one side the Atlantic Ocean, one side Daytona Beach.
We bought some nice T-Shirts at the beach.
It's funny to stroll along the beach with a car and acting that this is a normal way of life.
Daytona looks like it didn't change in the last two decades but we can appreciate it.
That's a real Daytona Beach feeling.
After our visit we checked out the racetrack of Daytona Speedway.
It's realy like the 1990's blockbuster " Days of Thunder " with Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman
Check it yourself. Nice to visit. What else you need for an American experience while traveling in Florida state.
Yes, it's Mac Donald's and we enjoyed it.
Spend a day relaxing on "The World's Most Famous Beach" and get away from it all. Our 23 miles of sandy, white beaches are open to pedestrians 24/7 with free access!
Cars are permitted in designated areas of the beach from sunrise to sunset, tidal conditions permitting. Visit Daytona Beach and find out why people love to vacation here.
Travelers with disabilities find our beaches highly accessible, too. Our unique Surf Chairs can be reserved at no cost, enabling visitors to experience the beautiful beaches and sparkling waters without damaging their own equipment. To learn more about exploring some of the Daytona Beach area's more accessible locations, visit our Accessible Daytona Beach site http://daytonabeach.com/accessible.cfm.
Written by disability consultant Steve Deal, it's an excellent resource for those seeking accommodation for sight, hearing or mobility disabilities. The site also provides a list of accessible hotel, restaurant, attraction and concert venues -- as well as some great tips for getting around.
Days of Thunder is a 1990 American auto racing film released by Paramount Pictures, produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Tony Scott. The cast includes Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Robert Duvall, Randy Quaid, Cary Elwes and Michael Rooker. The film also features appearances by real life NASCAR racers, such as Rusty Wallace, Neil Bonnett, and Harry Gant. Commentator Dr. Jerry Punch, of ESPN, has a cameo appearance, as does co-producer Don Simpson.
This is the first of three films to star both Cruise and Kidman (the other two being Far and Away and Eyes Wide Shut).
