Food, I haven't talked about food yet and it's so much a part of my vacation :)
In Salt Lake City I had the Southwest equivalent of a Hawaiian pizza: the SASE was spicy and in addition to the usual ingredients, it had bell peppers and jalapeno peppers. My mouth was immediately awake and my eyes a little teary. This morning I had an egg skillet which was the usual scrambled eggs and home-fries with ham & green peppers mixed in in addition over the top I had their green chili sauce; a mild white sauce with stuff in it I could recognize jalapeno peppers and chicken chunks but it was tasty. Tonight I had the Santa Fe Chicken, this time it had a hot green pepper sauce (the white sauce, jalapeno peppers and Cheddar cheese. It was wonderful. Looks like this vacation is a 'hot' one.

Today I toured the Islands in the Sky region of the Canyonlands National park. It was a photographers paradise. In addition to taking the photographs I again took several short hikes to see the desert and sights. Included was a 1 mile (there and back 2 miles) canyon rim walk. I am amazed how they built these walks as the trail was marked to give the walker the safest possible route but still allowing access to the canyon edge in places. Steps were put in where the steep sections were and as I said it was very safe. Not like the canyon rim @ the Grand Canyon which was a trail literally carved into the canyon wall. I managed about 100 meters before I went screaming up to the Nice save asphalt trail.

The air was so clear on the canyon trail that I could smell the perfume/deoderant of the people who passed me. On the other trails it was fun people watching and listening to the way mothers were encouraging their children and old folks challanging each other to do more.

Riding along the road through the park I was enjoying the scenery until I came upon a series of nice tight right and left curves all thoughts of picturesque scenery left my mind as a smile came on my face and my bike flew....

I was exausted when I came back to the motel. So now fed and this blog almost finished, the hot tub is calling my name. It's a real hard life.
