Wow it's been awhile. Not sure why, in some ways I think this think backfires, one loses most personal contact and never finds out about people back home. Oh well. Anyways this is going to be short for reasons that will become apparent in a moment.
The one major event of note was mid-semester break; Lisa and I did something called the Central Otago Rail Trail. It's an old railway line through the valleys of Otago which has been converted to a trail which we biked. We did about 180 kilometers over six or so days, the scenery was spectacular and the weather perfect. I couldn't have asked for a more serene, peaceful, or enjoyable way to spend break.
Then I got back. The second to last day I wasn't feeling too well, but figured it was just a cold or something. Long story short, the diagnosis is bronchitis and glandular fever. What's the second one? Kiwi translation: mono. Not exactly what I would have liked for study abroad, and not all the blood tests are back so it isnt definite, but all signs point to mono. And while the being sick part sucks, I'm more worried about not being able to do everything I would like while I'm here. So in the meantime, hope for the best and sleep a lot!
