I swear, if the U.S and Western Europe had the flowing colors of the "third world" we would be perpetually happy people!!
Even the cemeteries are full of colors. They are also structured above ground. Not only the tomb type structures of New Orleans cemeteries, but stacks and stacks filled with or waiting for the next tenant.
Stumbling upon the San Pedro cemetery, I wasn´t even sure where I was at first. It had the clear ambiance of a religious relic with praying hands and all. Standing still, getting a bearing on my whereabouts, I began to realize I was in a cemetery. These photos are similar to about all the cemeteries I have seen throughout the Western Highlands of Guatemala, many on top of a mountain as the crown of the town.
