And life goes on at the Asylum. Yesterday I spent the majority of my time cleaning fish and filleting them. After that I had to answer the phone and watch after the hostel while Frank went into town to run some errands.
Today was just another day. Shifted a few classic cars, took a ride in a '64 Chevy Impala, chopped wood...just like at home. I think I'll be ripping up floor boards from one of the buildings nearby soon. Last night I had a really good meal. I made corn and fish while another guy made mashed potatoes. Probably my first real meal that I've made and had to eat since I've been here. Everything else contains peanut butter, jelly, or the word "instant" in its name.
I'm not sure how much longer I'll stick around here, but it may be for a while. The atmosphere is pretty cool here. Fruit picking is looking less and less appealing at the moment. Especially after I saw how somewhat bland the Central Otago area is. That job on Stewart Island could be good though. I'm not sure when I'll even give that guy a call back. I want to do some kayaking/fishing and just hanging around the beach while I'm in Seacliff.
I need food. Thanks to everyone for all of the Christmas presents/money if I didn't say so before. adios
