Well I'm heading out of Cromwell and I've really just arrived. There won't be any fruit picking work until after the New Year. I will do that or head to Stewart Island to build tracks. Either way I go, I only plan on working for about a month.

I arrived Monday night in Cromwell. I stayed on a farm which the owners have plans to make self sufficient. All kinds of grapes for white wine, cherries, 27 cows, and a few other things are grown on the farm. The couple that I stayed with are Irish, but only Jim had an accent. I did random work building gardens and helping build a shed. Most of the time I actually just stood there and watched Jim do the work. I stayed in a room attached to the garage which was self contained. It was really nice and relaxed staying there. Jim's wife (whose name I forget) would make lunch and dinner (tea) and I had stuff in my room for breakfast. In about a month when I start travelling more I plan on doing this kind of work throughout the country.

Now what to do for New Years?
