Today is Holy Thursday & most of the day is spent driving through the Atlas Mountains. Thankfully, the weather is pleasant & there is no signs of snow although Summer tells us that it was quite different two weeks prior.

We did see barbary apes along the way (they are actually monkeys). They have become very accustomed to visits by humans on the sides of the road. The nicest stop of the day was at the Kasbah Myriam. It is a carpet & embroidery workshop that is run by Franciscan nuns. The goal is to provide employment for the local women. The money raised from the sale of their wares is used toward healthcare to their families. They also assist with the education of the children. I was happy to purchase some embroidery & a hand-woven wool cushion cover. Altogether, I spent $115 CAD (less than $100 USD) - all for a good cause. We also had the opportunity to see the tiny chapel on site - it seems even smaller than the one in Bequia. The Catholics among us took the opportunity for prayer as this would be the only Christian church we would be in for Easter. I did not take any photos here (inside), but if my fellow travellers did, they'll be posted sometime in the future.
