Another exhausting, but thrilling day! On this full day tour to Luxor, the Little Owl marveled the truly outstanding examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. After early morning (three loooong hours!) drive from Safaga to Luxor, she first stopped in the Valley of the Kings where over 60 tombs of pharaohs and noblemen are located. She admired the massive statues known as Colossi of Memnon, and visited the dramatically situated mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, set at the head of a valley and overshadowed by the Peak of the Thebes. But her favorite was the Luxor Temple! While the sun went down and the moonlight came across the clear night sky, she could truly appreciate the magnificence of ancient Egyptian culture. The Little Owl has, after all, the heart of a princess...
