I currently live In Bedford, Indiana, (USA), but it has been my lifelong dream to visit all the British Isles!

I turned 67 on January 12, (2013), but I do hope to visit all the British Isles before I die.  All but one branch of my ancestors came from Wales, England, Ireland and Scotland, and I have always felt a deep longing to just BE there. IF I ever make it to the British Isles, I may not return to the U.S.A.

At this point in my life, due to health issues and financial restrictions, I'm still only dreaming of a visit to ANY or ALL of the British Isles.  However, if I could win the lottery tomorrow, I would be on my way in a week or less.

I want to visit the smaller towns and villages, off the beaten path, as well as the Literary, History and tourist points of interest, particularly the English Heritage sites, etc. I would love to visit Hay-on-Wye and see all the bookshops there, or even live there too.

I especially want to go to Brecon, Powys, Wales, because my Fifth Great Grandfather, Sir Jeffrey Jeffreys (1652–1709) originated there.  He lived at what was then called Brecon Priory.  After Sir Jeffrey's death, the building reverted back to the crown and is now known as Brecon Cathedral. The Cathedral is set in a walled close, which is unique in Wales, and is regarded as one of its finest buildings. http://www.breconcathedral.org.uk/

Sir Jeffrey was an MP for 15 years, as well as an Alderman, a Sheriff of St. Mary Axe in London, and a tobacco, wine, and (unfortunately) a slave merchant for many years, trading in the West Indies, across Europe, and I believe also Russia at one time.

One of my fanciful screen names is Eluned Ddedwydd, which is derived from the Mythical (el-EEN-ed), from Welsh---el, meaning greatly, much + (i)uned wish, desire.  Luned was a handmaiden of the Lady of the Fountain in the Welsh Arthurian romance Owein and she had a magic ring that made the wearer invisible--one of the Thirteen Treasures of the Island of Britain; Eluned's beauty and intelligence were legendary.  My Paternal Great-Grandfather was an Owen, (which is very close to Owein) so I feel this legend is rather fitting for me, I have always felt deeply drawn to both Wales and England.

Another branch of my ancestors have the surname Page. It is said they were one-time owners of what is now the Fanhams Hall Hotel in Ware, Hertfordshire. (See Photo below).

I would love to see the Portland Limestone Quarries too, as I live in the heart of "Limestone Country" here in Lawrence County, Indiana (USA) and our area is known as the "Limestone Capitol of the World".  Our local stone is found on most of the buildings in the Federal Triangle in Washington, D.C. and in many state office buildings, libraries, Post Offices and other federal buildings in the U.S., as well as the Washington National Cathedral, the Pentagon, the Chicago Tribune Building and the Empire State Building, and Portland stone is said to be very similar to ours. Some of the stone cutters and pioneers in our local limestone industry came from the Portland area.

I am adding some photos of a few (of many) other specific places I want to visit when I finally make it to the British Isles.
