We started the day with another tasty breakfast followed by a walk to the Empire Sate Building, we didn't go up as the line snaked all the way around the block.  After that we walked to the Flat-Iron Building, a beautiful place to behold.  We walked to Union Square, took more photos, and then went to meet up with someone Elke knows here in NYC.  She met while Colin and I went for Mexican food and a couple of Dos Equis.  After lunch we met up with Elke and walked to Washington Square.  We had seen van loads of New York's Finest zooming up and down different streets but never knew the Occupy Wall Street protests had moved.  As we walked towards the square they roared past us and then stopped.  Several jumped out and ran back towards us and into a Citi Bank branch we had just passed that was full of people and had dozens of people milling around outside.  You could easily distinguish the desk/donut eaters from the other cops who began pushing the crowd back into the branch amid shouting from the protesters.  Lot's of people were standing around watching.  We finally made it to Washington Square where there was a sizable crowd and a large number of police watching, directing traffic, etc.
After that we moved on to look at the house where something from Sex in the City happened and then around the corner to the Magnolia Bakery, also Sex in the City related.  There was a lineup to get in to buy cupcakes.  We walked from there in Greenwich Village to the High Line.  The High Line is a long stretch of elevated train tracks that have been modified to support walkways and greenery.  It was a fantastic day so the whole line was crowded with people strolling and getting some sun.  The High Line ends just around the corner from the Javits Centre so we wandered in to try and get into some of the sessions for The Walking Dead, Resident Evil, Beavis and Butthead, etc but not a chance.  We'll have to be better prepared next time.
