Birth place of WAM and his burial too.
Also home of the Trapp family and we are sleeping in Maria's room while she is in Vermont, U.S. She's now 96. Learnt a lot of truths not featured in the movie 'Sound of Music". For instance, the trek over the mountains at the end would lead to Hitler's 'Eagle's Nest' H.Q while in fact they went out the back garden gate to the train station 5 minutes walk away. There are lots of stories about the Trapp family and until this morning I didn't realise Maria added three more kids to the Baron’s brood.
Interestingly, the Baron ran afoul of Hitler questioning his strategies. He could do this and not be shot because he was in fact an Italian [Incorrect but rather a subject of Austrian- Hungarrian empire having been born in what is today Zadar, Croatia and becuase Austria had not yet allied itself with the Nazis] too since at birth his hone then formed a part of Italy and not Austria. Anyway his butler (a Nazi sympathisiser) alerted him and he took the family and fled.
After breakfast with the other guests (2 from Petrie and 2 from Buderim) and before leaving Salzburg by local roads (we overlooked buying a highway pass) I snapped another parting shot of the Salzburg.
All that in all a pleasant unintended 24 hours there in Salzburg.

Comments
Maria von Trapp is dead for the past 24 years, if alive, today she would have been 106.
Also, Baron was not born in Italy, but in Zara, Kingdom of Dalmatia, Austria-Hungary. Back then, it had nothing to do with Italy. Today, it is Zadar, Croatia.
I now accept correction and plead my reference is to Maria Agatha Fanziska as to who's room I occupied. Thanks for the input whoever you are Tippy.
