This is going to be a short entry (whew).

Well we woke up this morning to, guess what, more rain and cold. Jen was so cold that it took about 30 minutes in the car for her to fully warm up. So, if you ever go to Glacier National Park...dress warmly!!!

We left around 8am for Spokane, Washington as a stopping point on our ultimate way to Seattle, our first major western terminus. The drive was scenic...cutting through backcountry Montana roads and small highways. The mountains rolled into hills, the hills into lush forests as we neared the Idaho border. Of course, by this point we were low on gas so we pulled into a little mom and pop gas station on some little known Montana road. I was pumping the gas when I heard a man's voice behind me say, "Hey boy, I can sell you there a can of spray paint to cover up that license plate of yours....people around here might think you're a Democrat."

Now...I make sure that my political party is unknown in school and most of the time outside of school. (Students: you STILL have yet to figure it out). But for someone to IMPLY that because I'm from Jersey I'm a Democrat is just wrong. Granted, he was laughing about it...but STILL!

We have gotten quite a bit of flak for being from Jersey...or as some locals out here call us "Joisey kids." It's sad when others can just not admit to the true superiority of the Garden State.

The rest of the drive was very pretty through Idaho and into Washington State. We stopped at a rest area that had a most peculiar animal....the ground squirrel. There were dozens of them..scurrying about across the grass, and the best part is that they would walk right up to you! Adorable. Def check out the pictures and video.

We arrived at our Comfort Inn, but had a bit of a problem. Jen seemed to be getting some sort of bad eye infection and thus we had to go to a local doctor for 3 hrs. Thankfully she's fine.

BTW! Spokane....is beautiful! This is an unsung gem of Washington State. The city is clean, there are waterfalls and riverfront parks, fountains you can run through! It's great!

Tomorrow we are off to Seattle! I can sum up what we are most excited for in Seattle: Coffee.

Goodnight all!
