I'm not talking about the tongue-touching, spit-swapper or the terrible-tasting French Kiss cocktail I ordered at the Rue Mouffetard bar. I'm talking about the faire la bise, the cheek kiss, a common way the French greet or say goodbye to family/friends.

While standing in line anxiously awaiting our first crepe Saturday night, we met three guys who gave us a few recommendations and helped us order (which we could have handled on our own, but they were being helpful -- as all the people we met were). We then walked over to a nearby square to stand and eat our crepes.

For me, eating my crepe meant more feta ending up on the ground than actually making it into my mouth which is always fun when eating with a new group of friends. One of them actually said, "We need to teach you how to eat feta." Not embarrassing at all... but back to the french kiss.

One of the guys had to head home and did the double cheek kiss with both of his friends before leaving. I loved it and apparently did not hide my excitement very well as one of them pointed out that it's probably not often we see our male friends kiss goodbye.

So you can only imagine how cool I played it a couple hours later when they asked if we wanted to part ways like the French.

Me: Yes, yes! (jumping up and down). Then I totally exaggerated the kisses like they needed to have a MUAH noise. They didn't, but I still walked home feeling quite Parisian.

From the beautiful city of Paris, I am sending lots of french kisses home to you all. We loved it here and thankfully don't have to leave all the yummy French food behind just yet. We are heading next to Aix en Provence for more vin, fromage and baguettes!

Of all the places you'll be seeing, France is perhaps the place I'd most like to visit. The food alone! Of course there's Spain. And Oktoberfest would be awesome. Hmm, seems like I probably need to take a trip to Europe myself. Keep the awesome pics and entries coming and maybe smuggle me back some raw milk cheese!

There are so many different kinds of cheese here I never know what to pick! Goat cheese is a big one -- it's on everything.

Jealous!! This just does not compare to Facebook requests, newsroom development, budget season and 2014 planning. SO happy to see you are enjoying yourself!! Now, back to playing that lottery...

Looks like you guys had fun there. The pic of everyone taking a picture of the Mona Lisa was funny. And some of your "I'm just looking at the map" shots. How many of those did u take before deciding on a good one? lol
