Well today we spent the day with a Bedouin. He explained his side of the Israeli resettlement of them. We met an 83-year-old holocaust survivor who moved here from Hungary 60 years ago. He said he wanted to help the Bedouins because they have been in the area longer than the Palestinians (Philistines) or the Israelis. Their archaeological record in the area goes back 13,000 years. It sounds a lot like the Native American situation in the early days of the United States.

Dawson Highland on

Masada was a Jewish settlement that was attacked by the Romans in the 70s AD during the Great Jewish revolt. Eventually, the siege lasted so long that the Jews determined that they were meant to die, but didn't want to be defeated by the Romans, so all 900 something and their families committed suicide, leaving an empty village.
