I know itīs the day of the family stay, but I really like seeing the map with the little pins sticking into the right cities.  It makes the blog look much cooler.  So Iīm going to try to fill in what I was too tired to type.

Right now I am using a free computer, which is great.  Of course I cannot download the pictures into this computer.  I donīt have access to any part of the control panel...canīt save, nada.  I have a week to find one computer in Spain that will work for me.  Iīm up for the challenge.  If any of you have been to Europe you know what I am talking about.  I have spent a lot of time with one of those wrinkles between my eyes...I hope I donīt have tan lines there.

Letīs go back to Toledo.  I forgot a good story.  A group of us were wandering around inside the cathedral reading from my personal favorite book about Spain by Rick Steve's, god of travel.  Suddenly one student (you will probably guess the name in a minute :) saw a man wearing a Pepperdine shirt.  Could it be that this man was actually from the college that she was about to attend?  Is the world this small? Yes.  Of course he was the Assistant Dean of something important, on some sort of sabbatical with his family.  He was to teach somewhere in Europe until January then return to his job at Pepperdine.  Then his wife invited the student over for dinner when they got back.  Amazing.

Ask your children if you can eat the oranges from the trees in Granada.  This seemed to become an obsession in this city which, if you didnīt already guess, is lined with orange trees.  Such a simple thing...sooo captivating to a bunch of tired, punchy students.  And so the obsession grew.  Finally in the Alhambra palace they could no longer stand it.  A group took turns trying to knock one out of the trees in the garden of the palace (they were supposed to be listening to their audio guides...I wasnīt with them, or clearly my reading Rick Steves, god of travel, would have captivated their attention).  They finally did it only to find out the the orange was disgusting, sloppy and basically hollow.

If Granada was hot then I really donīt have an adjective for Sevilla.  Every trip I have taken has landed me in Sevilla but I retain basically no information beyond the largest Gothic Cathedral in the world being in this city.  I cannot figure out where anything is in relation to the hotel, thank goodness for taxis.  But on this trip I had an epiphany...itīs the heat AND the humidity.  Throw in a several hour walk and you have a special level of tired.  Itīs no wonder I have blocked everything out.  The poor kids...but itīs all been amazing.

Next stop...family stay!
