Nampula, Mozambique

After 2 hours on a pick up, and then 2 in a small minibus, we arrived in
Nampula, to spend the night and catch an early morning bus to
Quelimane. We found the hotel we wanted to stay in, but it quickly became apparent that it was possible to rent rooms by the hour and the two rooms around ours were being used for that purpose, so we packed up quickly and left across the street to Pensoes Brazilia. A bit more expensive (800 mtc - $32), but then nothing seems to be cheap here. It was right beside a big supermarket, and after not drinking any water all day we gladly picked up a couple of big bottles of water, a couple small local beers, and some wine-gums. What a great dinner! And the room had a TV so we enjoyed an hour of Shear Genius, a Survivor/Big Brother type show about hair dressers. Yes it is from the US. What the heck will they think of next. We were asleep by 9 pm to wake up at 4 am and catch our bus.
