This entry will be short on writing and long on photos - partly because I am *working more and because the photos really do steal the show on this one.
As the title says I spent the weekend (4 days) on a motorbike, driving approximately 1000 kms and stopping only to eat and to take photos - I squeezed in a little sleep occasionally also.
The trip went north to Ha Giang, then to Dong Van and Meo Vac before turning southward and heading home. The scenery was so beautiful that words like, "incredible, spectacular and amazing", became commonplace. Look at the photos and I guarantee you will agree.
*Regarding working more: I have taken a second job, not because I need the money or because I have too much time but because it is something I have always wanted to do (and been encouraged to try) - I am working as an editor on a local Travel magazine. I have a second reason also but i will talk more about that in a later entry.
Make yourself a cup of coffee (or tea) then sit back and enjoy the photos...

1000 kilometers!?!?!? That's amazing, more than I've ever done, and definitely puts you in the Monkey Butt Hall of Fame! You da man.
Another amazing trip. You are going to have so many things to tell at the next UTM....start planning it.
You rock Mark! That would have been an incredible adventure riding your motorbike so far. You saw some unreal countryside, people, food and fresh fresh air. Loved the photos of the rice growing on the terraced hills and the fields of golden corn. Fantastic to hear that you have a job editing the local Travel Magazine.
so for your next job, a travel show on pbs!!
It's amazing trip. I live in Ha Giang town but I've ever go to dong van by motorbike
