THE HOTTEST AND HUMIDEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!!!!!

At least it was on the day that we were there. We arrived in the late afternoon after the short bus journey from San Cristobal but it was still unbearably hot and humid. The town had a nice little plaza with some food stands and restaurants so we had some tacos and tortillas.

Next day there was no respite from the heat but our real goal of coming here was calling so we went to Palenque to climb all over these 1200 year old ruins. Apart from the ruins which are really amazing the setting is pretty special too. There is thick jungle all around and with the ruins sitting in the middle it's quite amazing.

We were supposed to head out of Palenque in the evening but it was just so hot, especially after visting the ruins for about 2 hours that we changed our bus to the first one we could to get out of there.

Next stop Villahermosa, just one night to get to the airport for our flight to Cancun.
