Slept well, except for the snoring gentleman. I thought I'd chosen a female dorm but guess not.   Met some hikers at breakfast.  They've finished the TMB and had heard of my hiking company CAIRN.  They said "oh yah the one with mules" but I assured them that I chose the option where I will be the mule:)

Went to the gondola and spent the equivalent of 2 nights in the hostels I've been staying to go to the Aiguille du midi 3840m.   The views were amazing and I met a Montrealer engineer who had climbed Mt Paladiso? in the Italian side of the alps.  His sister and girlfriend are speech therapists too.

I got great pics (great by my definition not Brandy's!).  I tested out fatigue at high altitudes and ran up the few sets of stairs at the top.  It was the engineer's idea.    It was painful, in my legs & my lungs.  I felt like I'd run a fast hilly race.

I saw hoards of climbers and mountaineers and told myself I gotta get into that.  I do live in the best place to learn.

The weather here changes so quickly.  At 8am it was 6C and now it's 21C at 4pm.  Glad to have brought warm fleece.

I have written more in my paper journal but don't wanna give this unfriendly cafe owner any more of my $$! I Would love to stay here longer and live/work/hike/ski.  I'm so thankful for Bill 101 or whatever Quebec laws made me learn French and preserve the language in Quebec.

If all goes well, there will be no blog entries for a week as tomorrow AM I begin my hike with my "group".  May keep  a journal to post retrospectively.

Happy Birthday Dad:)

Sounds awesome!! Can't wait to see your pics!

It's raining like crazy in Montreal at the moment.

I just picked up a suitcase from Pat's/ I had no idea that I still had anything there until I got his message a few days ago saying that he was moving. Some clothes that I haven't seen in years... since I got back from AUS I think.
