It was green and next to the sea. I saw seals and walked along the cliffs. I wanted to do the full hike but the guy I was hiking with, had a flight to catch. Also, my kodak easy share failed me and ran out of batteries! So after reaching the "summit" (very low), we headed down to the small village.
We ate at a seafood restaurant, since we were in a seaside village- my first time eating out since arriving here! I had a great bowl of chowder with the heartiest bread, soda I think. I stayed longer and explored the Howth Castle, the oldest inhabited castle in Ireland? the world? (I forget). Then I went to as transport museum and was treated to a student rate again, without a student card! It pays to look younger!!
I actually kinda like the weather here. First, the rain is fleeting and light. It's not like a rainy day in Montreal where it pours all day. Here it rains, then there's sun, then clouds, more rain, etc. It means you need to be prepared. But my MEC jacket is taking good care of me and dressing in layers helps!
Today is my last day in Dublin. I will head to more green, urban this time (Phoenix Park).. Tomorrow, I'm taking a 3 day group (paddy wagon) tour of Northern Ireland. We'll stay at hostels and I'll try the group thing (dad said it'll remind me of the advantages of travelling alone).
I'll try to upload pics...
