Well...augh...Mara is going to rat on me sooner or later anyway..she is 'the informer', you know, and she has pictures...I wasn't even out of Jackson and I ran into the back quarter panel of a VW Golf trying to turn out of a very busy KMart parking lot. Accident report filed and all. The kid driving the other car was really cool and was laughing saying that the same thing happened to a friend of his last week at the same spot. I felt so stupid. No one was hurt, Pearl, our van is just scratched up a little, it really slowed us down...AND construction. The drive was beautiful through Teton Park though. We stopped in Dubois for a supper picnic at the Park and drove through rain around Riverton. We all saw a beautiful double rainbow. We came through the Wind River Canyon at dusk and the rocks were beautifully rosy.

We pulled into Thermopolis at dark and thanks to an excellent recommendation from Sharon, we stayed at the Eagle Rock RV Park in a cut little bunkhouse cabin, which the girls all absolutely LOVED. I was relieved after the events of the day and very little sleep the night before to not pitch the tent in the dark.

It's a cool but beautiful morning. Zoe and I are sitting out front of our little cabin waiting for the other sleepyheads to rise. We'll spend sometime playing here in Thermopolis and head for Devil's Tower. It's so nice to just have nothing but the girlies here to worry about...the only thing better would be to have Doug too.

Movies watched...Pippi Longstocking, Dora and the City of Lost Toys, and Zoe's fave, Happy Feet.
Books read...Five Little Monkies Jumping on the Bed, Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat
Song of the Day...You're a Jerk...I think that's what it's called. Anyway...Dess likes it.

Noteworthy highlights: We drove over two 10,000 ft mountain passes...the two biggest of our trip are now behind us.

happy the cabins worked!
I'm glad the cabins worked out for you! Maybe the worst is behind you- it's always the hardest just leaving town! Best wishes and good traveling thoughts go out to you for the rest of the trip!

Out of the way!
Here they come everyone outta her way! HAHAHA! I think it is a good sign to get your bumper cars out of the way at the start of the trip, now you won't 'run' into any more troubles! Have fun today, remember to breath and live the experiance! Love ya, Kim

You have my undying admiration!
Flying to Brasil pregnant and with three kids was easy compared to what you are undertaking! Just remember that if push comes to shove you can send an S.O.S, you can stop dead in your tracks and I can drive out to meet you, or if there's space in your car I can fly to somewhere nearby and travel with you. Lots of love - Danny

Understand...
As I was explaning to my granmda about your fender bender...she reminded me of the tree I backed into this summer at the cabin. The tree has ALWAYS been there...I got your note about the Friday morning arrival. That will work out great. Do you want to meet here or at the lake? I will be here until 11:00 due to Lauren's ortho appointment. Let us know and we will plan accordingly. Drive safe-r.
love you
Cousin Kim
