Time for a bit of a Gold Coast recovery session, slept for ages in our slightly strange hostel (Sleeping Inn) it's ensuite, has a private kitchen and even a TV so we can keep up to date with Neighbours! Sleeping got a bit dull after a while so we watched a DVD in a bus to liven things up.
Second night and time to make amends for our soberness, BBQ at hostel then off to a number of clubs. In one of these we bumped in to the Canadians from Fraser Island again!
Ended the night in a club where Rat danced with an old lady.
10.30 next morning Rick and Susie came down for a day trip, with bleary eyes we got out of bed and headed to the beach with boogie boards underarms.
Cheap steak in a casino for lunch and then two rounds of crazy golf, at which Rick won. Couple more hours at the beach then time to say our final farewells.. Very sad, but hopefully they'll visit UK next summer.
One last night on the lash in surfers, Irish bar where we chatted to a couple of Brisbanian girls before the four of us moved on to the club where I went for a pee and couldnt find anyone again!! Rat insists he was looking for me. After many rounds of the pub/club I gave up and danced til 4.30 with some Japanese girls who felt sorry for me!
Makes a refreshing change coming here, cos although it's touristy, most of the tourists are Australian, much less of a backpacker vibe.
All in all a pleasant few days.
