*transferred from paper diary*

I left Los Angeles last night at 6.45pm and am now going through Eastern Arizona almost to the border of New Mexico. These trains are pretty cool, heaps of space to get a few hours sleep which i am so happy about as it's only monday and i will be on this train until friday night.....yeah HEAPS OF FUN!! The food is alot to be desired for though, last night i went into the dinner car with a rumbling appetite only to find the cheapest meal was $16US! It's about $13US more than i have budgeted for each meal so that was a no no. What made it even harder to leave the table was i got sat next to Nicole who was sweet as.

Back to the lounge car where i settled into two cups of two minute noodles..mmmmm plastic fooood aghhhh!!

Los Angeles was fun, even though there was more smoke and pollution in the air than a Bangkok brothel. I went to hollywood and took a walk down Hollywood Boulavard with Shaun, a bloke i met from Manchester England on his first trip overseas - good on him! Didnt realize how much Mexican's and Spanish Influence was in California. Then i learned that California, New Mexico, Arizona and some of Colarado were actually a part of Mexico a few hundred years ago. It is law in California that every street sign / public building sign etc has to be bilingual.

some facts about LA i found interesting;

there are on average over 50 tremors in the Los Angeles area EVERYDAY!
The sierra mountains east of LA haven't been seen since October 2003 from downtown because of pollution!

ok thats enough!
